AN Australian blogger has released pictures of what he claims is the iPhone 6, suggesting it will be available in two sizes.
The blogger is Sonny Dickson, the same Melbourne source who correctly leaked details of last year’s iPhone 5C.
It’s believed the new device will be called an iPhone Air.
Based on these pictures, and previous leaks, we can expect the iPhone 6 to come in various colours, including gold.
It’s expected that one model will have a 4.7 inch screen, with the larger having a 5.5 inch screen.
The photos are thought to be mock-ups of the handset, produced so that case manufacturers can prepare new products that fit it before the expected September release. Cases in these sizes are already being sold in China.
Twitter users were split over whether they would buy a 5.5 inch or 4.7 inch version, with some saying the larger size would be more comfortable to hold and others describing the smaller measurement as “a sweet spot”.
Earlier this week, 9 to 5 Mac said sources had indicated that Apple was testing a 1704×960 resolution display for the 4.7 inch handset, tripling that of the iPhone 5 and retaining its 16:9 aspect ratio.
The site predicted that developers and Apple itself would optimise some applications to better utilise the larger screen area.
The slimline phone is also expected to have a sapphire crystal screen.
Taiwanese ex-pop star and blogger Jimmy Lin last week posted photos of himself on Weibo (China’s version of Twitter) with what he claimed was the iPhone 6, displaying similar dimensions and a gold colour.
Lin also leaked images of the iPhone 5C and iPad Mini ahead of their launches.
Apple has not commented on whether any of the images are genuine.
