Apple plans to launch iPhone 17e in spring 2026, using their 16e display panel

Korean media The Elec reported today that Apple will launch the second-generation e-series affordable iPhone –  iPhone 17e next year in consideration of maintaining overall smartphone shipments and user base.

It is said that the iPhone 17e will reuse the OLED display panel on the iPhone 16e (IT Home Note: in other words, there will be no essential difference from the screen of the iPhone 14). BOE and Samsung Display have participated in the development of the iPhone 17e OLED project, and LG Display, which supplies screens for the iPhone 16e, may also join.

Korean media predicts that Apple will control the first-year shipments of the iPhone 16e to around 20 million units, maintaining a level similar to the previous SE series, so as to avoid negative impact on sales of higher-end products; on the other hand, industry insiders believe that the e series will also join the ranks of iPhone annual updates.
