Fanfare as iStore unveils latest iPhone products

Lovers of the iPhone brands were awestruck as the luxury phone company unveiled latest in the series of its iconic phone products across the globe, recently.

Counterparts in Nigeria’s emerging market were not left out as a live streaming of the glitz and glam of the global launch was beamed live by the franchise company iStore for a packed audience at the Shoprite Mall, Ikeja.

The evening event which had the typical meet and greet fervour saw guests treated to a soiree as they enjoyed a cocktail of whine, snacks and other edibles to fill their taste buds while the live stream was ongoing.

The high octane event drew participants from different demographics including upwardly mobile executives, tech savvy and digital natives, business owners and other stakeholders together.

Speaking on the grand unveiling with our correspondent, Omokolapo Agunloye, B2B Sales Manager at iStores Nigeria was upbeat about what he described as the first-of-its-kind launch.

“The amount of products that they’ve released today, even I can’t contain my excitement. I’m so happy. I can’t wait for them to release all these products officially in Nigeria. Because remember, when they announce it, it’s actually a global launch. So, they release it in phases of countries.”

Amongst the products unveiled was the iPhone 16, the 128GB model, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max to mention just a few.

Speaking on the unique selling points of the new products, Agunloye said, the series 10 has bigger screen than the Apple Watch Ultra.

“Before, the Ultra was the biggest screen that we had. But now, the Series 10 is even bigger. So, you have a lot more display on your wrist that can mirror everything that is happening on your phone. So, you can imagine if I’m having a conversation with you, I’m getting messages. I don’t necessarily want to bring out my phone to check the message. Even on the AirPod lines. Now, there’s the AirPod 4G. The AirPod 4G, for example, the transparency, the noise cancellation. Everything is just better and better and better. As far as Apple products are concerned. So, today has been a wonderful day.

“There are some benefits that you will get that you will necessarily not get. That you will necessarily not get if you go and buy it now. Things like, one, if you buy an iPhone from us, right? You can trade in the current phone. So, let’s say you were using an iPhone 13 or 14 or 15. You can trade in that phone to reduce the cost that you’re going to pay for the new one. Two, when you buy that phone from us, normally if you buy it from Apple, you get one year warranty.

“But because we are the Apple premium resellers in the country, Apple is able to allow us to sell it and give two years warranty. So, we’re giving an extra one year warranty. It would cost you an extra over $100. But here, you’re getting it for free. Also, if you’re buying the iPhone 16 from us, the first 200 customers will get a free case, a free screen protector, a free AirTag, a free plug. All of these things I’m talking about, it’s almost like N150,000. If you need to buy it separately, you get what I’m saying. Also, if you buy the phone from us, you can insure it. And then, best of all, you can buy it and pay in installments. You can pay about six months or about 12 months. I don’t think there’s anybody that is doing that currently.”

Aside from Apple Intelligence, Agunloye said other new features include the formats.

“For example, we talked about the screen size. It was slightly increased, right? We talked about the battery life, which was improved. We talked about the new processor, the Apple Silicon, which is new, which obviously enabled all this Apple Intelligence to work properly.”
