The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) is to collaborate with an Information Communication Technology (ICT) giant, Microsoft, on skills development in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other technological advancements.
Dr Mohammed Bulama, the Director-General of FRCN, and his management team discussed the partnership during a courtesy visit to Ola Williams, the Country Manager of Microsoft West Africa, at her office in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Dr Bulama highlighted FRCN’s vast listenership and emphasized the importance of strategic communication in national development.
He noted that the collaboration with Microsoft would enhance FRCN’s operations through advanced ICT solutions.
Mrs Williams expressed Microsoft’s willingness to support FRCN with AI training and technical solutions for operational challenges.
She also promised to provide Microsoft’s curriculum to FRCN’s National Broadcast Academy and establish a technical team to address the corporation’s needs.
FRCN’s delegation included Director of Special Duties, Yunusa Tanko; Director of the National Broadcast Academy, Danladi Kwache; Director of Lagos Operations, Bolanle Owoyemi; Director of Engineering Services, Askira Sanda; General Manager of Bond FM, Princess Adenike Adegoke; and ICT Consultant, Dr Celestine Achi.
The partnership is expected to strengthen FRCN’s technological capacity and improve its impact in the broadcasting industry.
