HTC Butterfly 2 coming soon to India: Snapdragon 801, 13MP Duo Camera, Android KitKat

HTC Butterfly 2, known as the J Butterfly in Japan, is all set to enter other Asian markets. The smartphone will soon be available in several Asian markets, including India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand starting September 2, reports GSMArena.

The Butterfly 2 sports a 5-inch, Full HD display. It comes powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 SoC that clocks at 2.5GHz and coupled with 2GB of RAM. On the storage front, one can expect 16GB or 32GB onboard storage that can be further expanded via microSD card slot. It also gets the HTC Duo Camera with 13 megapixel main sensor, f/2.0, 28mm lens and support for 1080p video recording. One will also find a 5-megapixel front shooter. Interestingly, HTC has dropped the Ultrapixel camera for the Butterfly 2, which could be a move forced by some of the criticism faced by the One M8.

This HTC smartphone features water as well as dust resistant capabilities. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and one can expect a layer of the company’s Sense UI. The Butterfly 2 comes fitted with HTC’s BoomSound speakers, and the company has teamed up with Harman Kardon to build a LiveStage Signal Processing Technology. All of this comes fuelled by a 2700mAh battery.

Previously, we’ve seen the company launch the HTC Butterfly X920d as well as the Butterfly S in India. In fact, the Butterfly S made its debut as the most expensive Android in India, at that time. It came with a pretty nifty feature set including a 5-inch 1080p full HD display (a big deal at the time), Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB on-board storage, microSD card slot and 3200mAh battery.
