Integrated ed-tech system for health science education

Technological advancements over the recent years have had a significant impact on health science professions. Not only have breakthrough advances in technology enhanced treatments, but it has also influenced health science education and changed the expectations that health science education institutes have of education technology (ed-tech) providers.

The pace of innovation across the medical industry continues to accelerate new-age technologies such as artificial intelligence, the internet of things (IoT), and cloud computing, which are now an integral part of the health science profession.

On the academic front, health science institutions have greater expectations of ed-tech providers. For a very long time, there weren’t any good solutions for managing clinical education (internships) which is a very important part of health science education but that cannot be kept aside anymore. Health science students thrive on the hands-on experience that clinical education provides, and for most health science courses, students must complete multiple internships in order to become health science professionals. Additionally, while institutes were ok having multiple software to manage different aspects of education, that is no longer the case now. There is a strong market push to have one solution for it all.

According to a report by the global newswire, the global medical education market size was valued at $90.66 billion in 2021, and it is expected to reach a value of $162.56 billion by 2028, at a CAGR of 8.70% over the forecast period (2022–2028). According to the World Health Organization, there are an estimated 1.36 million students enrolled in medical school around the world.

One place, one solution

Universities demand solutions that can cater to the holistic requirements of health science education such as clinical and didactic education, curriculum management, and compliance management, and eventually cater to the entire healthcare system in one place, with one solution. Currently, there are no ed-tech products that bring in an integrated solution.

Systems that cater to all needs of a health science education program on one integrated platform will become an ideal partner to health science educational institutes.

Empathize with clients; learn their business

Before developing any B2B software solutions, such as the integrated ed-tech platforms, providers need to empathize with clients, learn about their day-to-day work activities and create solutions that optimize their work life. The learning process may be slow, but a solution provider must partner up with the users and understand their needs before developing a tech solution for them.

Health science education management system in India

One of the largely untapped potentials lies in facilitating stronger partnerships between new-age health tech startups and public organizations. Accelerated partnerships, boosted by stringent but lesser time-taking policies, across health science, medical degrees, nursing, physical therapy, and hospital chains will lead to much wider and qualitative coverage of more and more people in need of healthcare attention. India has started grasping the surface of understanding cloud computing and its full promise in healthcare, especially the personalized product systems for clients. The pandemic catalyzed this seismic shift in ways more than one, causing major healthcare players in the country to harness the true potential of cloud-based solutions in the industry.

In today’s time, building an integrated suite of products to support health science education is a must. Today, customers demand efficient, time-saving products that provide seamless customer support.
