Introducing The Easter-Ready H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Centre Seconds Sunny-Side Up

Cosmic Green, Funky Blue, Swiss Mad Red, Citrus Green… Indie brand H. Moser & Cie. is no stranger to bold, expressive colour. These vibrant hues have graced the dials of the Pioneer Centre Seconds series, alongside Arctic Blue and Blue Lagoon. Now, Moser adds an Easter-related hue, or rather sun-related, for the new dial colour has little resemblance to the colour of a fried nutrient-bearing portion of your usual chicken egg served for breakfast – but it certainly could be served next to a portion of smoked salmon… Then again, H. Moser & Cie strives to be the opposite of usual, so there is your piece of fine horlogerie with personality.

While the new Sunny-Side Up dial steals the spotlight, the rest of the watch sticks to a proven formula. The Pioneer Centre Seconds comes in a 40mm stainless steel case, water-resistant to 120 meters and measuring 12mm thick. It features a mostly brushed finish with distinctive ridged cutouts along the mid-case, topped with a domed sapphire crystal that adds character without compromising comfort. A screw-down crown with the Moser “M” logo and a four-screw exhibition caseback round out the sporty yet elegant design.

On the yellow fumé dial, minimalist applied indices – doubled at 12 – are paired with luminous dots at the hour markers along the periphery where the colour goes dark. The leaf-shaped hour and minute hands are skeletonized at the base and treated with Super-LumiNova for nighttime visibility, while the central seconds hand features a signature openworked counterweight.

Powering this cheerful timepiece is the HMC 201 movement, a refined version of the automatic HMC 200. It delivers a 72-hour power reserve and beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour. Through the exhibition caseback, you’ll see the anthracite-finished movement decorated with Moser’s signature double stripes, gold engravings, and a mix of modern and traditional finishing. Skeletonized bridges and the openworked rotor offer an unobstructed view of the beautifully balanced inner workings.
