Latest WhatsApp beta update fixes ‘out of date’ error message

WhatsApp, one of the most popular instant messaging platforms of all time, is used by billions worldwide. Recently, many WhatsApp users who were on the beta version of the app on Android encountered a problem where the app was showing an error message stating that the version they were using was ‘out of date’.

This caused trouble for those affected since they were unable to use the app for quite some time. Some tried fixing the problem by changing their system date to a past day but unfortunately it did not seem to help. It looks like the app developers were quick to notice the issue and released a new version of WhatsApp beta for Android (v2.23.7.14) to fix the problem.

In case you are getting an ‘out of date’ error message on WhatsApp, make sure you update the app to the latest version as it fixes the problem. Alternatively, users can also opt out of the beta and revert to the normal version of the app if the updated version is not working for them. However, you might lose access to some new features which might only be available to those on the beta version of the app.

For the uninitiated, WhatsApp sets an expiration date for every version of the app, so users always end up using a recent and updated version of the app. These updates might also include bug fixes, new features and crucial security updates.
