Honor introduced the Honor GT late last year, an affordable sub-flagship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It seems the company is now gearing up to introduce the second phone to the lineup, the GT Pro. Prominent tipster Digital Chat Station has shared what’s believed to be the core specs of this upcoming device.
Per the report, the Honor GT Pro will apparently be an affordable phone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. If this holds true, the device will be competing against the Redmi K80 Pro and Realme GT 7 Pro. Digital Chat Station adds that the device will feature a battery with at least 6,000 mAh with support for 100 W fast charging. This would be a big step up from the 5,300 mAh battery found in the non-Pro device.
The report further shares that the Honor GT Pro could sport a 6.78-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution. It could also sport a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which should lead to reliable and faster unlocks than optical sensors. The leaker didn’t share much about the camera setup, but the report does mention that the phone is expected to have a 50 MP large-sized primary sensor.
There’s no word about the launch timeline either. However, the GT Pro could make its official debut after the Honor 400 series, which is speculated to be unveiled in May. The laker didn’t offer any concrete details on the price, but the non-Pro device launched at CNY 2,199, around $303. Given that the Pro will reportedly pack the Snapdragon 8 Elite, it could be around CNY 4,000, about $551.
