Following the initial One UI 7.0 release, Samsung has now introduced the new Camera layout with device eligibility. The new OS upgrade brings a massive revamp to Galaxy’s photography destination, enhancing overall experiences.
Notably, Samsung’s feature reveal entirely excludes the Galaxy S21 series. The flagship lineup, along with its Fan Edition model, is eligible for the One UI 7 upgrade. However, the devices are not on the list of any new camera feature or new UI.
Revamped Camera User Interface
The Camera app’s layout is now more user-friendly. Key shooting controls are grouped at the bottom for easy access, while settings adjustments are visible at the top. This design simplifies managing your photography options in one place.
The ‘More’ mode has shifted to a bottom popup style. This change lets you quickly pick your preferred shooting mode without digging through menus. It’s a small tweak that makes switching modes faster and more convenient.
Quick Control now includes exposure settings. You can tweak the exposure value for each mode, and it stays set until you close the app. This gives you more control over how your photos look without constant readjustments.
For better composition, Samsung added gridlines and level indicators. You can use both to keep shots steady or choose just one, depending on your needs. These tools help ensure your photos and videos are perfectly aligned.
Eligible devices include the Galaxy S22, S23, and S24 series, plus S23 FE and S24 FE. The update also supports Galaxy Z Fold 4, 5, 6, and 6 SE, Z Flip 4, 5, and 6, and Galaxy Tab S8, S9, and S10 series.
Samsung is expected to roll out the Android 15-based One UI 7 upgrade to the Galaxy S21 series next month. Only time will tell whether Samsung shares this much-needed user interface to its 2021 flagship lineup or leaves it behind.
