TELEGRAM IS STILL DEVELOPING THE PAID SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE

Instant chat messaging platform, Telegram recently introduced a new download manager. This new manager will help users easily keep track of files currently downloading. Like its competitors, Telegram is also developing new features to make things easier for users. According to reverse engineer, Alessandro Paluzzi, the company seems to want to launch a subscription service in the future. This is not the first time that this report is hitting the web. Back in November last year, there were reports that Telegram is working on a subscription service.

Reverse engineers recently discovered a subscription service called “Telegram Premium”. This service may come with many new premium features, including unlocking premium stickers, extra reactions, and more. However, Paluzzi did not disclose pricing for the subscription service. He also did not provide us with any details on when “Telegram Premium” would be available to everyone.

In addition to Telegram, WhatsApp is also offering a subscription service to its business customers. One of the benefits is that users can link up to 10 devices to the same account. However, Telegram’s new paid subscription service is centred on satisfying consumers’ interests. As it currently stands, you can log in to Telegram from any number of devices at the same time. Recently, Telegram has added some exciting features, including the ability to react to messages, protected messages in groups and channels, and a new navigation menu.

TELEGRAM IS NOW THE MOST POPULAR MESSENGER IN RUSSIA

For the first time, Telegram is now the most popular messenger application in Russia. This report is coming from MegaFon, referring to data on its own subscribers (about 72 million people). However, the company did not make any official comments regarding this report. According to the reports, the app’s sudden boom in Russia started in February this year. In Marck (first two weeks), its share in the total volume of messenger traffic increased from 48% to 63%. However, MegaFon did not give any specific figures.

In Russia, other messaging platforms have a series of restrictions. This is probably why Telegram is booming. Last month, the Russian government restricted access to Facebook and Instagram. The government also consider the owners of these platforms as “an extremist organization”. According to available data, Telegram has also become a leader in terms of traffic consumed per day. According to MegaFon, one user spends 101 MB of traffic per day on Telegram. In the case of WhatsApp, the traffic drops to 26 MB, and Viber users spend only 8 MB of traffic per day.
