The successor to the iPhone SE will likely be named the iPhone 16E.

We’ve written several times that Apple is working on a new generation of the iPhone SE. It turns out the device might hit the market under a different name.

According to a publication Fixed Focus Digital on December 13, 2024, the successor to the third-generation iPhone SE will be named iPhone 16E. This account on the Chinese platform Weibo has over two million followers. On December 31, another insider, known as Majin Bu on the X platform, also referenced a source confirming the iPhone 16E name.

The device will likely feature a design similar to the base iPhone 14, which also resembles the iPhone 16. The new model is expected to include a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, a USB-C port, a single 48-megapixel main camera, a new A-series chip, 8 GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence, and Apple’s first in-house 5G modem.

As for the price, the new Apple smartphone will cost less than $500. For comparison, the current generation of the iPhone SE was priced at $429 at launch.
