The ultimate ‘Gaming Bed’ has been created in Japan

Having the right set-up is key for any gamer.

Long gone are the days where you had to leap over hundreds of wires and cables strewn across the living room and in are the times of intricately organised screens and accessories.

If you’re reading this article, then the chances are you’re one of these people or at least have a mate who fits the criteria.

But even if they’re decked out with the most expensive headphones and more monitors than you’d care to count, we’re afraid they don’t have anything on the latest development from Japan.

That’s because a so-called ‘gaming bed’ has been released which allows gamers to play and compete – as well as eat and drink, for that matter – from the comfort of their mattress.

The ultimate gaming bed

And, no, we’re not talking about perching at the end of your bed frame, leaning forward as though you’ve gone 1-0 down on FIFA, we’re talking about state-of-the-art equipment.

The company Bauhütte has designed a range of furniture that allows you to multitask between gaming, napping and grabbed a refreshment easier and quicker than before.

Similar products have been released in the past, but few have looked as slick as the set-up that Bauhütte are calling a ‘perpetual installation’.

Game, nap, eat, repeat

The full combination includes a bed, bottle rack, side table, gaming desk, set of blankets as well as controller and headphone hangers all within easy reach for the user.

Amusingly, the company’s blog about the product reads: “I wake up and move from my bed to my desk. Why is that so complicated?

“Gaming beds solve this problem. Elevated headboard that adds functional storage to the bedside and Bed desk that can be set at the foot of a single bed.

“As soon as you get up, you can watch a game or animation and realize a life cycle of falling asleep without difficulty.”

Strictly speaking, we’re not talking about a single product here, rather that Bauhütte has suggested all their separate items should be combined in this fashion.

But it doesn’t come cheap…

But how much will it set you back? Well… it certainly isn’t cheap.

Bagging yourself the full collection will set you back 113,250 Japanese Yen, which is tantamount to around £823, and that’s before you even look at the delivery costs.

So, fork out for the perfect ‘gaming bed’ if you possible have the funds, but sitting cross-legged on the covers with a few snacks and drinks in close reach might have to do for most of us.
