Now everything is official. Disappearing messages appeared in WhatsApp

The disappearing messages feature has been tested on WhatsApp since at least October 2019.

As the developers note, since most of the messages sent are of no particular value, the disappearing message mode was created in WhatsApp.

When this mode is enabled, new messages sent to the chat will disappear from it after seven days. Anyone in a private chat can enable or disable disappearing messages. In group chats, this can be done by the administrator.

The disappearing message feature is being rolled out gradually. The mode will become available to all WhatsApp users around the world during this month.
